Enter and View: Stoneyford Care Home

As part of our statutory Enter and View programme, Healthwatch Nottingham and Nottinghamshire visited Stoneyford Care Home to observe the quality of care, speak with residents, relatives and staff, and identify what was working well alongside opportunities for improvement.

The visit found that residents were positive about the care they received and spoke warmly about the kindness and support provided by staff. The home offered a welcoming environment, and residents were encouraged to maintain their independence and take part in activities.

The report also identified several areas where the service could make further improvements to enhance residents' experience and quality of care.

Recommendations

The report recommends that the provider should:

  • Improve the consistency of care planning and record keeping.
  • Continue to develop meaningful activities that reflect residents' individual interests and preferences.
  • Ensure residents and relatives are regularly involved in decisions about care and the running of the home.
  • Review aspects of the environment to support residents' comfort, safety and independence.
  • Continue to build on good communication between staff, residents and families.
