Who we are and what we do

Healthwatch Nottingham & Nottinghamshire is the local, independent champion for patients and the public. We hold health and care leaders accountable for providing quality care by ensuring they engage meaningfully with the community and make transparent decisions.

Our role is to gather and amplify the voices of those using health and social care services, especially those less often heard. We use this feedback to make recommendations to those with the power to drive change.

Though independent from the NHS and local authorities, we work closely with them to promote improvements in local health and care.

How we make a difference

- Listening to You: We gather your experiences to understand what’s working and what isn’t.
- Sharing Insights: We provide data-driven reports to inform those responsible for planning and delivering care.
- Advocating for Change: Our independence allows us to identify and raise concerns, driving projects that focus on specific areas of care.

What we can’t do

- We can’t resolve individual complaints but can guide you through the complaints process.
- We can’t act as personal advocates but will direct you to those who can.
- We need your input to make meaningful changes in local care!
