Urgent Community Response Report

Commissioned by Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board, this study evaluates the effectiveness of Urgent Community Response (UCR).

The Urgent Community Response (UCR) Report (November 2023) evaluates the effectiveness of Nottingham & Nottinghamshire's UCR service, designed to provide rapid crisis response and in-home care to reduce hospital admissions.

  • Key findings from 34 service users:
    • High satisfaction with 97% praising staff's politeness and 100% noting their compassion.
    • The service is considered invaluable to users in crisis situations.
  • Areas for improvement:
    • Better communication regarding arrival times for UCR staff.
    • Increased public awareness of the service and its availability.
    • Addressing barriers for minority communities in accessing the service.
  • Commissioned by Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board, the report emphasises the importance of patient feedback to shape the future trajectory of the UCR service, which is still in the early stages of piloting.
  • Recommendations include:
    • Maintaining high service quality and compassion.
    • Improving communication processes, particularly around arrival times.
    • Addressing gaps in public awareness to ensure wider accessibility, especially for minority communities.
