Give your views on Sherwood Forest Hospitals

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is hosting a drop in session at all three of Sherwood Forest Hospitals’ sites for patients and staff to discuss their views about the Trust, and the services that it provides.

Members of the public as well as staff are being encouraged to take the opportunity to have their voice heard at one of the following sessions:

  • King’s Mill Hospital, 10am to 3pm Tuesday 3 April in the Boardroom on Level 1 (near Trust HQ)
  • Newark Hospital, 10am to 3pm, Wednesday 4 April in the Boardroom
  • Mansfield Community Hospital, 10am to 3pm, Thursday 5 April in Seminar Room 3

There will be no set structure to the drop-ins, but instead will be shaped by what people taking part want to say.

The CQC is the independent body responsible for assessing, inspecting and regulating health and social care services including hospital trusts.  The drop in sessions will be the first stage in the process of the CQC inspecting and rating Sherwood Forest Hospitals, and will be followed by an unannounced inspection, and a planned visit to assess how well the Trust is being led in the following weeks.

Richard Mitchell, Chief Executive at Sherwood Forest Hospitals said:

“Our trust has come a long way, and I believe we are now a good hospital with pockets of outstanding care across all of our sites. We aim to provide to safe, personalised care for local

people, with the care delivered as if the patient in front of you is a member of your own family, and I believe, in general, we are delivering on that aim.

“Patients and staff have a great opportunity to share their views about Sherwood directly with the CQC and I would like as many people as possible to attend the sessions. Please take part and talk openly and honestly about our achievements and what we can do better.”
